All goods get transported across oceans, that's just how the modern world works. Through research, big companies, such as Amazon and IKEA were relying on reducing their carbon footprint through the use of developing biofuels rather than airplanes.
However, because of this reliance, we can see that there will be an increase of about 30% in the shipping industry over the next 20 years. Increasing the number of ships in the ocean to help transport goods, will not benefit the natural world.
I made this project a challenge; how do I make an industrial-driven product suitable for the natural world?

But not everything is positive

A map showing all active shipping routes around the world. The dark blue area shows where whales migrate.
The next steps would be to have a boat engineer look at the hull structure to make trimarans suitable for heavy cargo loads and for a soft-robotics engineer to look at how to make a large-scale fin structure for the ship that can displace the correct amount of power.

Thank you
